Six Aurora Central Catholic Varsity football players earned access into the Championship Effort Club through the first week of Fall Camp this past week at ACC. Seniors Marcus Jefferson (Aurora), Alex Karafiat (Aurora), Jesse Valenzuela (Aurora), juniors Steve Belovich (Big Rock), Nick Scarpitti (Maple Park), and sophomore Cody Ekstrom (North Aurora), were awarded membership due to their attitude, effort, performance and respect to others over the last two weeks.
“These individuals have really impressed over the last few weeks,” Coach Brian Casey said. “Individually, they have each done something special that has stood out, and that effort has continued each day. They have asked questions, been the first in line, done extra work, show enthusiasm every day, and have simply displayed those qualities this club embodies.”
The six new members now bring the Clubs total to 10 (Bohr, Cisneros, Holzer, Marcoux). As the remaining Chargers work to gain access to the Club, all the Chargers continue to work toward the season opener at Bob Stewart Field against Rockford Lutheran on August 26th.
